Plot Synopsis

Lead investigators take an in-depth look at their decades-old cold cases, using actual archival footage, interviews and evidence from the period of the murders. From the moment a homicide is reported, a file is assembled to document every facet of the investigation -- crime scene photos, notes and observations, forensic reports, witness interviews and suspect profiles -- and continues to grow with new information until an arrest is made and conviction attained. In this series, the lead investigator takes viewers through their case book, unraveling the mystery of these cold cases, page by page, ultimately uncovering what broke the case wide open. Narrated by Geoff Pierson, who played Deputy Chief Tom Matthews on DEXTER, each one-hour episode of MURDER BOOK features a different case, including these victims: two college students -- 20-year-old Tiffany Sessions and Elizabeth Foster -- who went missing a few years apart in Gainesville, FL in the late '80s and early '90s; high school senior Mary Quigley, who was found raped and brutally murdered in her hometown of Santa Clara, CA, in 1977; Melissa Kountz, who at age 13 saw the person who murdered her cousin leave their house -- and was haunted by the vision for many years; and two young women, murdered five years apart, who were found on the same remote logging road in the usually quiet town of Aberdeen, WA. Season 2 of MURDER BOOK premiered on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT on Investigation Discovery. In the season opener, "Flower Drum Murder," a steel drum is unearthed with the remains of a young pregnant woman inside. With some old-fashioned sleuthing, investigators are able to identify their victim, bring a cowardly killer to justice, and close the book on a decades-old mystery.

On Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 9pm ET/PT, Investigation Discovery premiered the Season 2 finale of MURDER BOOK. In the season ender, "Come Back Jack," four years after a 71 year-old Korean War hero goes missing near Upland, California, a DA's investigator picks up a trail of clues that seem to lead to the victim's closest friends.
