Plot Synopsis

Russell Knight operates an Alaska-based, family-run taxidermy shop with a worldwide reputation for preserving wildlife and natural history that hunters and fishermen -- from local Alaskans to African hunters -- bring into his shop. Knight must fulfill the demanding -- and sometimes odd -- requests of his clients, and he takes on every challenge whether he's asked to mount a charging warthog so that it's busting through a wall, restore an historic 50-year-old polar bear and Alaskan landmark, or use Theodore Roosevelt's personal taxidermy kit. But he can't do it alone, and he relies on his experienced crew: Sam, the newest member, has over 40 years experience mounting animals and has won the prestigious Award of Excellence at the National Taxidermist Association's competition; Doug, who is Russ' right-hand man, keeps the shop in tip-tip shape; Dave (a.k.a. The Fish Guy) has been with Russ for 14 years and is best known for his fish mounts; Aaron, who started doing taxidermy in his Idaho garage, is now an award-winning specialist; Ken moved from California 22 years ago and recently joined Knight's Taxidermy full-time after being a hunting guide; Tina, Russ' daughter, is earning her Biology degree from University of Alaska and hopes to take over the family business; Tommy is the true artist of the shop, adding the final touches and airbrushing that makes the mounts come to life; Jeremiah (a.k.a. Johnson) answered an internet ad and was hired as a grunt, but now he showcases his superb sewing skills; and Merry has been Russ' secretary for the past 13 years.
