Plot Synopsis

Executive produced by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and series creator Eliot Laurence, MOTHERLAND: FORT SALEM is a one-hour drama series set in an alternate, present-day America where witches ended their persecution 300 years ago by cutting a deal with the burgeoning U.S. government to fight for their country. The series follows three young women from basic training in combat magic into terrifying and thrilling early deployment. In this world, the traditional roles of gender and power are flipped, with women on the front lines fighting looming terrorist threats that are strikingly familiar to our world, but with supernatural tactics and weapons. Raelle is a reluctant recruit with major authority issues whose mother recently died in the line of duty. Tally is a kind, strong-willed and curious witch who enlisted despite her mother's passionate disapproval. Abigail is an unquestionably alpha, smart, driven and courageous witch who hails from the upper echelons of military witch society and is excited to be joining the ranks of the witches' army. Rounding out the witch recruits, Scylla is a playful yet dark and mischievous recruit who is not what she appears to be. Anacostia is a tough but wryly humorous drill sergeant whose chief concern is keeping the young recruits alive through basic training, while General Sarah Alder is the highest-ranking officer in the Armed Forces and the only leader the witches have ever known.

Season 2 of MOTHERLAND: FORT SALEM premiered on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT on Freeform. In Season 2, Raelle, Tally and Abigail confront higher stakes, dangerous magic and a new threat from an ancient group of witch hunters, The Camarilla. In the first season, the trio of young witches follow in the footsteps of their foremothers, defending the nation from The Spree as part of the United States Army. Their training is intensified when they are promoted to attend War College, where their magic, relationships and beliefs will be pushed to the limits. While General Alder seeks out new witches to join the wars to come, The Spree and the Army learn their fight may no longer be with one another. But how can two enemies work together to thwart a hatred that won't stop until all witches are exterminated? In the season opener, "Of the Blood," the discovery of new witches gives Alder hope, despite the threat of the Camarilla. Tally struggles with her role as a Biddy, and Raelle and Abigail return to Fort Salem with their mysterious new abilities.

The third and final season of MOTHERLAND: FORT SALEM premiered on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT on Freeform. The end of Season 2 left Abigail, Tally, Raelle and Scylla fugitives on the run. Now without a military nor a home, they seek protection alongside the Dodger community in the Cession -- but laying low and staying out of trouble has never been their strong suit. With witch hunters working against them from inside the White House, the heroes must call upon ancient forces in the final battle for their right to exist.
