Plot Synopsis
Hosted by 2 Chainz, MOST EXPENSIVEST is a half-hour series that takes viewers on an unexpected tour of the culture of excess. 2 Chainz "investigates" all manner of products and services, driven by a central question: Is it worth it? Is it sh*t? Or is it "The Sh*t"? Shot in New York City and Las Vegas, this program dives headlong into the absurdly luxurious and will determine if $4,000 canine cologne, an $800 bottle of beer or $5,000 Chicken Wings are really worth it. Each half-hour episode of this linear television series is comprised of multiple segments, first appearing as individual 5-minute webisodes of the GQ web series knows as GQ: MOST EXPENSIVEST SHIT video series, which ran for 64 minisodes over three seasons released here: https://video.gq.com/series/most-expensivest-shit.
Season 2 of MOST EXPENSIVEST premiered on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT on Viceland. In the second season, 2 Chainz, with his signature blend of swagger and charm, takes viewers on a guided tour of the best of the best from weed and wellness to matchmaking and eco-indulgences. Filmed in the luxurious locales of Miami and Los Angeles, this season will bring more of the absurd and decadent. In the season opener, "Wet Dream," 2 Chainz hangs out with mermaids after exploring the high seas in an underwater jet ski; he meets the lucky winners of the Least Expensivest contest.
The third season of MOST EXPENSIVEST premiered on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 10pm ET/PT on Viceland. This season, Chainz and his ever-present canine sidekick Trappy put some extra focus (and extra cash) on the future -- from genetically grown meat and environmentally sustainable mansions to high-end technological advances in VR and audio equipment to Bluetooth enabled sex toys and a robotic dog pal for Trappy. The stacks pile up and Chainz finds out how big things get in Texas, visiting Dallas Mavericks owner, billionaire Mark Cuban for a taste of the luxury cowboy life, the highest-end Tex-Mex ever including $450,000 tequila, $250 hot sauce and trashing $1000 pinatas. Others joining Chainz to take financial irresponsibility to the next level are: fellow Grammy winner Erykah Badu, adult film star Kimmy Granger, NFL legend Jerry Rice, model/actress Amber Rose and fashion designer/reality star Angela Simmons. In the season opener, "Digi Sex," 2 Chainz feels out a $200 Bluetooth Fleshlight, explores $8,000 sex toys with Amber Rose, and swings by a high-end BDSM studio. After a nine-month break, MOST EXPENSIVEST returned with new episodes on Monday, May 11, 2020 at 10:30pm ET/PT on VICE. In the spring premiere, "Richie Rich," 2 Chainz is joined by his three kids to kick it at a $35M home, where they check out some pricey pogo sticks, beauty pageants, and dog cloning.
MOST EXPENSIVEST returned for its fourth season on Monday, February 13, 2023 at 10pm ET/PT on VICE. From rows of low riders to heaps of Hollywood memorabilia, 2 Chainz is back to seek out the most expensivest collections and meet the big ballers who stack racks on insanely specific passions. In the season opener, "High Notes," 2 Chainz seeks out the most expensive musical collections, while meeting legends and the instruments that defined their careers -- with special guests Joe Banamassa, Hit-Boy, and Angelo Moore.
