Plot Synopsis

In this one-hour drama series, 1950s housewife Maria Luiza goes to Rio de Janeiro to meet up with her husband, only to learn he's deserted her. Because of the city of Rio and her love of music, she's inspired to make a fresh start, deciding to stay and open a bossa nova club. Maria Luiza offers Adelia a proposal. Ligia rediscovers her passion for singing. Thereza tries to convince her boss to hire a second female writer. Pedro's debt lands his wife in trouble with a shady creditor. Adelia has a heart to heart with Cap about Conceicao. Malu gets closer to Chico. On Friday, March 22, 2019 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Netflix released the seven-episode first season of MOST BEAUTIFUL THING.

On Friday, June 19, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Netflix released the entire six-episode second season of MOST BEAUTIFUL THING, now titled GIRLS FROM IPANEMA. In Season 2, Malu remains the determined woman, dedicated mother and loyal friend we met in the first season. However, now she has a burning strength, fueled by a trauma that made her stronger and now without excuses, without filter and uninhibited. Thereza chooses to dedicate her life to taking care of her family and her house. But she soon realizes that she is missing another type of accomplishment: work (this time in a radio channel). Before getting married, Adelia thinks a lot about her childhood and her father, Duke. She wants to start fresh with Capitao and move forward with her life. Meanwhile, her sister Ivone goes from a typical teenager to a talented aspiring artist who, with Malu's help, will have the chance to prove her abilities to an industry dominated by men.
