Plot Synopsis
Inspired by the 2001 feature film, MONSTERS, INC., MONSTERS AT WORK is a 10-episode animated series that takes place the day after the Monsters, Incorporated power plant started harvesting the laughter of children to fuel the city of Monstropolis, thanks to Mike and Sulley's discovery that laughter generates ten times more energy than screams. It follows the story of Tylor Tuskmon, an eager young monster who graduated top of his class at Monsters University School of Scaring. Ever since he was a kid and terrified the entire 4th grade at the Shockington Elementary Scare Play, Tylor has dreamed of becoming a Scarer like his idol James P. Sullivan. And now that dream is about to come true...or not. The day he arrives at Monsters Incorporated to begin his dream job as a Scarer, he learns that scaring is out and laughing is in! They don't want Scarers...now they want Jokesters! After Tylor is temporarily reassigned to the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team (MIFT), he must work alongside a misfit bunch of mechanics while setting his sights on becoming a Jokester. Billy Crystal and John Goodman reprise their roles as the voices of Mike and Sulley, respectively. The first two episodes of MONSTERS AT WORK dropped on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 on Disney+, with a new episode debuting each Wednesday through September 1. MONSTERS AT WORK made its linear television debut on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 8-9pm ET/PT on Disney Channel, as the cable channel aired the first two episodes.
