Plot Synopsis
Each year since 1996, Major League Soccer (MLS) has hosted its annual mid-season All-Star Game, featuring that year's most accomplished players. For the first nine years, the annual fixture frequently changed its format, featuring these matches: MLS All-Stars West vs. MLS All-Stars East (1996, 1997, 1999-2001 & 2004); USA MLS All-Stars vs. World MLS All Stars (1998); MLS All-Stars vs. United States Men's National Team (2002); and MLS All-Stars vs. Chivas de Guadalajara (2003). Since 2005, the MLS All-Stars have played European club teams during their preseason preparation, including: Fulham (2005); Chelsea (2006 & 2012); Celtic (2007); West Ham United (2008); Everton (2009); Manchester United (2010 & 2011); AS Roma (2013); Bayern Munich (2014); and Tottenham Hotspur (2015). During the all-star game's first 19 years -- from 1996-2014 -- ABC/ESPN/ESPN2 broadcast the event live each year, except the first year when ESPN showed the game on time delay later the same day. In 2015, Fox Sports started broadcasting the MLS ALL-STAR GAME live, with the game broadcast on Fox Sports 1 in the first year.

On Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 9pm ET/6pm PT, Fox Sports 1 televised the 2015 MLS ALL-STAR GAME, featuring MLS All-Stars vs. Tottenham Hotspur, live from Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, CO, with play-by-play announcer John Strong; analyst Brad Friedel, the former Tottenham goalkeeper who recently retired after a stellar 21-year career; and sideline reporter Julie Stewart-Binks. The MLS Commissioner's selections -- Premier League legends Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard (who was injured and replaced by Dax McCarty) -- and the MLS Fan XI feature three of the league's most prominent international stars as well as eight U.S. National Team veterans. First-year MLS players Kaka of Orlando City SC and David Villa of New York City FC were voted in along with Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando, Seattle Sounders forward Clint Dempsey, LA Galaxy defender Omar Gonzalez and Sporting Kansas City midfielder Graham Zusi. Tottenham's roster for the event features U.S. National Team member DeAndre Yedlin, Premier League breakout star Harry Kane, Argentine midfielder Erik Lamela, Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen and France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. The pre-game coverage started at 8pm ET/5pm PT live from an on-location set, with host Rob Stone and analysts Eric Wynalda, Alexi Lalas and Stuart Holden, who also provide halftime and postgame analysis and commentary.
