Plot Synopsis

Created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, MR. MAYOR is a half-hour comedy series that follows retired businessman Neil Bremer, who runs for mayor of Los Angeles to prove he's "still got it." Once he wins, he has to figure out what he stands for, gain the respect of his biggest critic and longtime liberal councilwoman, Arpi Meskimen, and connect with his teenage daughter, Orly -- all while trying to get anything right for America's second weirdest city. MR. MAYOR premieres with back-to-back episodes on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 8-9pm ET/PT on NBC.

On Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 9pm ET/PT, NBC premiered "Mr. Mayor's Magical L.A. Christmas," a MR. MAYOR holiday special. Neil serves his love of gift-giving by forcing his disgruntled staff to work on "L.A. Christmas Eve" as they wait for his "perfect gift" to arrive.

The sophomore season of MR. MAYOR premiered on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 8:30pm ET/PT on NBC. In the season opener, "Move Fast and Break Things," Neil is excited to work with his new Innovation Team but gets sidetracked when he has to take Orly (and Arpi) to the DMV for her permit test. Tommy and Mikaela become increasingly concerned about the I-Team's new presence and fight to keep Jayden off the chopping block.

On Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 8:30pm ET/PT, NBC premiered "The Debate," the series finale of MR. MAYOR. Arpi and Neil square off in the televised mayoral recall debate. James reveals information that may change the course of his and Mikaela's relationship.
