Plot Synopsis

Derek Friday is a former dancer, model and jet-setter who mostly makes a living by collecting his weekly trust-fund check. But times are about to change. Derek's wealthy philanthropic mother is forcing him to earn his weekly handout by switching places with some hard-working deserving person for one day -- on Friday, of course! This series definitely gives new meaning to the phrase, "Thank God it's Friday!" Undaunted by his complete lack of practical skills, Derek happily stumbles along and always manages to improve and leave things better, brighter and a little more glamorous than how he found them. While Derek toils away at his new job, the person he switches places with enjoys a day of living wealthy. In the first episode Derek switches places with a reptile zookeeper, allowing the lizard lover to enjoy a day of boating and motocross. "Mr. Friday" had its US premiere on Friday, August 7, 2009 on Fine Living.
