Plot Synopsis
In this multi-camera comedy, recent divorcee Nathan Miller, a local roving news reporter, gets a new roommate when his mother, Carol, moves in with him after his parents have their own marital problems. Nathan's life is turned upside down, because, just as he was getting used to being a bachelor again, he must adjust to life with his mother, who is meddlesome and controlling. Meanwhile, Jack's father, Tom, moves in with his sister, Debbie, and her husband, Adam, and their daughter, Mykayla. At least Jack still has his friend Ray, a news cameraman, to help him deal with his chaotic situation, even though Carol manages to even cramp his style. Now, as Nathan and his sister settle in with their truly impossible parents, they both wonder just how long the aggravating adjustment period is going to last. THE MILLERS debuted on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 8:30pm ET/PT, as part of CBS' two-hour, Thursday-night comedy block. Season 2 of THE MILERS premiered on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 8:30m ET/PT on CBS. In the season opener, "Movin' Out (Carol's Song)," Carol begins her search for a new apartment, causing Nathan and Debbie to race each other to find her a place that is the farthest away from each of them. During the course of her house-hunting, Carol meets and develops an instant bond with Kip Finkle. Sean Hayes, who joins the cast of THE MILLERS as a series regular, plays Kip, who is Carol's new best friend and a source of friction for Nathan. After an eight-month break, THE MILLERS returned with new episodes on Saturday, July 4, 2015 from 8-9pm ET/PT on CBS, as the network plans to air back-to-back new episodes for three weeks. In the first episode back (8pm), "Diggin' Up Bones," Kip encourages Carol to confront her old Central Elementary School work nemesis, Miss Pam (guest star Molly Shannon), at the teacher's retirement party in an attempt to get her to be more daring. Then, in the night's second new episode (8:30pm), "When The Pope Comes Marching In," Nathan's planned week-long series of reports for the Pope's visit hits a snag when Ray gets a job offer to become the cameraman for a rival field reporter.

On Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 8-9pm ET/PT, CBS premiered the series finale of THE MILLERS, as the network broadcast back-to-back new episodes. In the night's first new episode (8pm), "Highway to the Manger Zone," Kip urges the Millers to stage their own rival show when staging their church's annual living nativity scene does not go as planned. Also, Carol asks Nathan and Kip to put aside their differences as a Christmas gift to her. Then, in the series finale (8:30pm), "Hero," Nathan agrees to use his celebrity status to help Debbie and Adam get her into a popular school when he decides he should have a better relationship with his niece Mikayla. Meanwhile, when Kip develops side effects from his sleeping pills, Carol and Tom agree to help him kick the habit by sleep-training him.
