Plot Synopsis

In each half-hour episode of MEXICO LIFE, people tour properties as they search for sun, sand and turf in Tierra Azteca. From the warm Caribbean waters of Playa del Carmen to Pacific Coast destinations like Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas, local realtors help these home buyers find the perfect property -- whether it's a vibrant nightlife and sizzling culinary scene or a totally secluded piece of paradise. On New Year's Day 2016 (Friday, January 1) at 1-2pm ET/PT, HGTV premiered back-to-back episodes as a series sneak peek. In the first episode (1pm), "A New Adventure in Puerto Aventuras," Mark, Michelle, and their 11-year-old daughter Alexis have faced one too many winters in Colorado and are ready to say bienvenidos a Mexico. The couple first visited the Riviera Maya on their honeymoon, and have returned as a family over the years to enjoy their favorite sights. Now that Mark is able to telecommute with his financial planning job, the family has realized Mexico can be more than a vacation spot -- it can be home. With the help of broker Suzana MacDonald, Mark and Michelle can't wait to find a condo with a sea view in the resort community of Puerto Aventuras. Then, in the second episode (1:30pm), "Two Foodies Find New Inspiration in Sayulita, Mexico," high school sweethearts Cari and Craig operate their budding artisanal vinegar business all on their own. From farming to fermenting, life on their California farm can be as exhausting as it is rewarding. For years, the sleepy surf town of Sayulita, Mexico has served as their sanctuary, inspiring them with exotic flavors, vibrant culture and world class surfing. Now they're excited to finally purchase a dream home all their own, and it's up to local agent Gabriel Gallegos to help them find their slice of Sayulita paradise.

MEXICO LIFE moved to discovery+ for its seventh season on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, as the streaming service released four half-hour episodes of the new season. In the season opener, "Heaven for a Family of Eleven," a Colorado couple with nine children searches for a family jungle retreat in Tulum. They're looking to enjoy the natural surroundings and want plenty of outdoor space, but they'll need something with enough room for their large family.
