Plot Synopsis

Max Asher, an easygoing superstar snowboarder, moves to Colorado to train for the Winter Cup, where he becomes roommates and instant bros with Alvin 'Shred' Ackerman, a super smart science whiz. The two boys must work to become friends and learn to navigate the trials of teenage life from completely opposite points of view, as they find themselves in hilarious situations that everyday teens experience -- from liking the same girl to navigating the crazy halls of high school. Max and Shred may approach life differently, but they always have each other's back. Max is an up-and-coming celebrity whose life motto is, "No worries, bro." He's adventurous, outgoing and all around charming. Before moving in with the Ackermans, Max was an only child, but now he's totally stoked to have found a new bro in Alvin, who he nicknames 'Shred.' Alvin is a brilliant young scientist and inventor. Give him any problem and he'll figure out a way to solve it, with one amazing invention or another. From Chemistry to Algebra, Alvin can ace pretty much any class...except for Popularity 101. Alvin's sister, Abby, is the family socialite. She's a confident, competitive and outgoing 15-year-old girl who loves soccer, shopping and teasing her younger brother. But although Abby may enjoy Alvin's misery a little more than she should, deep down she's sweet and always there for him. Their parents are: Lloyd, a wannabe cool dad, who has big dreams, which change constantly, and is always up for anything; and Diane, an intense mama bear, who keeps the family in check. Plus, Alvin has a curious and chipper apprentice, his next-door-neighbor Jill, who pops up unexpectedly -- usually through his window -- and has earned her nickname 'Howie,' because she's always asking "How?" One day after its world premiere in the U.S., MAX & SHRED premiered in Canada on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 7pm ET/PT on YTV. After a five-month break, MAX & SHRED returned with new episodes on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 9:30pm ET/PT on Nickelodeon. In the first episode back, "The Slopestyle Syrup Slob," Max's crazy cousin Ozzy comes to town, but his outdoorsy lifestyle turns out to be too much for the Ackermans. Diane teaches Abby to drive.

On Monday, March 21, 2016 at 6pm ET/PT, NickToons aired the U.S. premiere of the second season of MAX & SHRED, one week after Season 2 debuted in Canada. New adventures are in the works for the gang, but through it all, Max and Shred remain best bros and Blizzard Springs continues to be the craziest town around. In the Season 2 U.S. debut, "The Shifty Girlfriend 360," the family is surprised when Alvin suddenly has a girlfriend, but quickly grow fond of her. Max however smells a rat and stands up for his best bud when he thinks this new love is just using Alvin for student government gain. Howie is testing the intelligence of a pig, but runs into trouble when the Ackermans keep treating it like a pet.
