Plot Synopsis

This re-imagining of the classic television series follows the brilliant septuagenarian Madeline "Matty" Matlock, who, after achieving success in her younger years, decides to rejoin the workforce at a prestigious law firm where she uses her unassuming demeanor and wily tactics to win cases and expose corruption from within. Matty is assigned to Olympia, a senior attorney and key rainmaker with a thirst for justice, while Olympia's ex-husband, Julian, the son of the head of the firm, is intrigued by Matty and her clever skills. Matty works alongside the firm's younger associates -- the charismatic Billy and the uber ambitious Sarah -- as she endeavors to establish herself in her new high-stakes world. As Matty settles into her new role at Jacobson Moore, Olympia and the aptly nicknamed "Team You Three" take on a lawsuit involving a developmentally delayed teenager whose family claims he's been wrongly accused of murder. MATLOCK debuted on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 8pm ET/PT on CBS, and moved to its regular timeslot -- Thursdays at 9pm -- beginning October 10, when CBS re-aired the pilot episode.

On the following Thursday (October 17), CBS premiered "Rome, in a Day," the second episode of MATLOCK. As Matty settles into her new role at Jacobson Moore, Olympia and the aptly nicknamed "Team You Three" (Matty, Billy and Sarah) take on a lawsuit involving a developmentally delayed teenager whose family claims he's been wrongly accused of murder. Also, Olympia and Julian disagree on a parenting matter.
