Plot Synopsis
Loosely inspired by the real life of star Marlon Wayans, this half-hour family comedy series centers on Marlon Wayne, a loving (but immature) father committed to co-parenting his two kids -- daughter Marley and son Zack -- with his very-together ex-wife, Ashley. While his misguided fatherly advice, unstoppable larger-than-life personality and unpredictable Internet superstardom might get in the way sometimes, for Marlon, family really always does come first -- even if he's the biggest kid of all. NBC premiered MARLON on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 9-10pm ET/PT, showing back-to-back new episodes. In the series opener (9pm), "Pilot," Marlon and Ashley try a friendly divorce for their children's sake, but things get tricky when Ashley decides to date again. Marlon struggles to keep a sponsor for his online channel, The Marlon Way. Then, in the night's second episode (9:30pm), "Cleaning Out the Closet," Ashley is shocked to learn that Marlon has a storage unit crammed full of things from when they were married and challenges him to have a yard sale to part with it all. Season 2 of MARLON premiered on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 9-10pm ET/PT on NBC. This family comedy continues to center on a loving (but sometimes inappropriate) father committed to co-parenting his two kids with his very-together ex-wife. While his misguided fatherly advice, unstoppable larger-than-life personality and unpredictable Internet superstardom might get in the way sometimes, for Marlon family really always does come first -- even if he's the biggest kid of all. To open the new season, NBC debuted back-to-back new episodes.

On Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 9-10pm ET/PT, NBC premiered the Season 2 finale of MARLON, debuting back-to-back new episodes:
"Career Day" (9pm): Marlon believes that non-traditional careers are being under-represented at Zack's school career day. To vent his frustrations, Marlon decides to speak to Zack and his classmates. He warns them to never be put in a box and to pursue alternative career paths. This backfires and Marlon has to reinforce that school is important, but they should never be told what they can or can't do.
"Funeral Party" (9:30pm): Marlon goes all out for his 43rd birthday and decides to throw himself a funeral party after attending his barber's funeral. Everyone speaks at Marlon's party, talking about all the insensitive jokes he made at their expense. This makes Marlon worry that he is too harsh on everyone. They reassure him that they love him and know that even when he is making fun of them it's because he cares.
