Plot Synopsis

Executive produced and hosted by experienced prosecutor Marcia Clark, this two-hour docuseries examines infamous murder cases that have mesmerized the public with their shocking details, bizarre twists and controversial investigations long after the cases have reached a verdict. Each two-hour episode takes an in-depth look at a specific case and examines the first 48 hours after the crime to uncover new revelations and unravel enduring mysteries. Clark's years of experience both as a prosecutor and defense attorney allow her to see the important details that original investigators may have missed. She sifts through evidence presented in the case files, visits significant locations and conducts interviews with key players in an effort to discover the truth behind how and why these murders happened. In the series opener, Marcia investigates the bone chilling, unresolved death of toddler Caylee Anthony. Was this beautiful little girl murdered by her own mother, Casey Anthony? With a visceral connection to the case, Marcia leaves no stone unturned as she attempts to discover the truth buried deep within the first 48. In subsequent episodes, Casey examines the murder of actor Robert Blake's wife Bonny Lee Bakley; the disappearance of Drew Peterson's wife Stacy; the death of Federal Bureau of Prisons intern Chandra Levy; the fatal shooting of Run-DMC DJ Jam Master Jay; the Billionaire Boys Club's obsession with money and power that may have turned to homicide; and the suspicious death of Rebecca Zahau at the Spreckels Mansion.
