Plot Synopsis

Luke Nguyen -- chef and owner of Sydney restaurant The Red Lantern -- returns to the country of his heritage and takes a culinary journey through the southern regions of Vietnam, visiting family members, tasting the cuisine, and preparing dishes that represent the real Vietnam. He'll even prepare a few of his restaurant's signature dishes, including Goi Du Du Tom Thit (Green Papaya Salad with Prawn and Pork). Starting in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), Luke travels through the Mekong Delta and north along the coast to the World Heritage city of Hoi An. This series had its U.S. premiere on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at 11am on Cooking Channel.
