Plot Synopsis

Each week, LUCHA UNDERGROUND brings the drama and excitement of Lucha Libre's colorful world of freestyle wrestling, as the masked heroes and villains battle it out in the ring for wrestling supremacy. The high-flying Luchadores include: Blue Demon Jr.; Sexy Star; Fenix; Drago; Pentagon Jr.; Prince Puma (aka Trevor Mann); Mil Muertes (aka Ricky Banderes); Johnny Mundo (aka John Hennigan); Chavo Guerrero Jr.; "B-Boy" Benny Cuntapay; Cortez Castro (aka Ricky Reyes); Catrina (aka Karlee Perez); Angela Fong; Son of Havoc (aka Matt Cross); Big Ryck (aka Ryckon Stephens); Ivelisse; Mr. Cisco (aka Lil Cholo); Martin Casaus and Holly Michelle. Production began on September 6, 2014 in front of a live audience in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. Season 2 of LUCHA UNDERGROUND premiered on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 8pm ET/PT on El Rey Network. In the season opener, "A Much Darker Place," the Luchadors return to compete, but with Dario Cueto on the run, darkness has taken over the temple. With Dario missing, will Catrina take over and run things in his absence? Plus, Rey Mysterio joins LUCHA UNDERGROUND this season. Season 3 of LUCHA UNDERGROUND premiered on Wednesday, September 7, 2017 at 8pm ET/PT on El Rey Network, immediately following a four-hour marathon (4-8pm) of encore episodes. In the 40-episode third season, masked heroes and villains continue to battle it out for wrestling supremacy in the hour-long weekly series, giving fans a ringside seat to the blood-pumping, chant-starting lucha libre drama and excitement. With Dario Cueto's fate unclear, only one thing is for sure, this new season brings even more death defying action with a new set of luchadores ready to leave their mark on the Temple. In the season opener, "Wheel of Misfortune," the luchadores return to the temple where their fate will be determined by the spin of a wheel, and Rey Mysterio competes. Season 4 of LUCHA UNDERGROUND premiered on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 8pm ET on El Rey. Production for the fourth season began in Los Angeles in early 2018. "LUCHA UNDERGROUND has been a remarkable series for El Rey Network. We have aired 105 episodes since its debut in 2014, hosted a live event at the SXSW film festival as well as in markets across the Southwest, and the series was the first TV show to screen theatrically using 4dx technology. On Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 8-10pm ET, El Rey Network premiered the Season 4 finale of LUCHA UNDERGROUND. The season ender, "Ultima Lucha Cuatro (Part 2)," features El Dragon Azteca Jr. vs. Fenix; The Mack vs. Mil Muertes in a Death Match; Johnny Mundo vs. Matanza; and Penatgon Dark vs. Marty "The Moth" in a Cero Miedo Match. Plus, The Order sets their plan in motion to destroy the Seven Aztec.
