Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Hidetsugu Shibata, Miyu Ikeda, and Nana Suzuki, LOVE DEADLINE is a one-hour dating reality series that features a group of women who meet potential husbands while traveling to scenic locales. The catch? Only women can propose, while men are on the clock.

Five single women go on a 30-day journey to several idyllic locations alongside eligible bachelors, where they test their compatibility through a series of dates. The men are on the trip for a limited time, and they can be asked to leave at any moment. The woman is given one chance to propose throughout the trip, a move she can only make when the journey of the man she's interested in comes to an end. If the proposal is accepted, they become an engaged couple; but if it's rejected, the woman must leave alone. She also has the choice not to propose at all, deciding to stay in the game instead and hope for a potential match with a different man.

Their journey begins in Okinawa, where the couples spend time relaxing on the beach, before going on to Kyoto for a kimono date. Throughout the trip, the participants can exchange messages and call each other during their free time using the dedicated smartphones provided.

LOVE DEADLINE premiered with four episodes on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 on Netflix, followed by a staggered release of the remaining six episodes until February 13.
