Plot Synopsis
This comedy series blends Louis C.K.'s stand-up act -- written specifically for this show -- with semi-autobiographical comedy short films about his off-stage life as a newly single father trying to raise his two daughters in New York. Some of these stories are real, but most of the short films do not re-enact real situations; instead, Louis acts in these fictional situations just was he would if they were real. The pilot included a fictional story about a bad date and a real-life story about his experiences when he volunteered at his child's school to be a chaperone on a field trip to the zoo. In Season 3, LOUIE featured a few multiple-episode story arcs and many guest stars, like Jerry Seinfeld, Robin Williams, Chris Rock, Melissa Leo and more. LOUIE returned for its 14-episode fourth season on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT, with FX airing back-to-back new episodes for seven consecutive weeks, ending on June 16, 2014. In the Season 4 opener, Louie goes through another typical day, and then does a benefit show in the night's second episode. On Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 10:30pm ET/PT, FX premiered the fifth season of LOUIE. In the season opener, "Pot Luck," Louie goes to a potluck dinner where there's going to be more than enough food, but he decides to make fried chicken anyways, an experience which of course goes terribly wrong. Guest starring Judy Gold as Marina and Dena Tyler as Bianca.

FX premiered the Season 5 finale of LOUIE on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 10:30pm ET/PT. In the season ender, "The Road (Part 2)," Louie continues his work on the road, which began in the previous week's episode. Then at 11:04pm, immediately after LOUIE's season finale, FX premiered LOUIS C.K.: LIVE AT THE COMEDY STORE, a 90-minute program, which is Louis C.K.'s sixth standup special at the world-famous Comedy Store in Hollywood.
