Plot Synopsis

Executive produced by Paul Giamatti and series creator Jim Gavin, LODGE 49 -- a one-hour scripted series set in Long Beach, CA -- follows a disarmingly optimistic local ex-surfer, Dud, who's drifting after the death of his father and collapse of the family business. Dud finds himself on the doorstep of a rundown fraternal lodge, Lodge 49, where a middle-aged "Luminous Knight" of the order, Ernie, welcomes him into a world of cheap beer, easy camaraderie and the promise of Alchemical mysteries that may -- or may not -- put Dud on the path to recover the idyllic life he's lost. While Dud is trying to find his own way, his twin sister Liz -- smart, fiercely independent, and deeply cynical -- is searching for a way to escape her debt while working at a nightmare chain restaurant. Ernie is a Navy vet, plumbing supplies salesman, longtime bachelor, working-class Renaissance Man, and member of the Order of the Lynx, Lodge 49. Other lodge members include: Connie, an old-school journalist and lover of smoke-filled taverns, is trying to hang on while the world changes around her after arriving at Lodge 49 thanks to her third husband, Scott Mills; Blaise, the resident philosopher of the Lynx, who tends bar at Lodge 49 and runs his own pot dispensary; and Scott, a Long Beach Port Harbor Patrol officer and straight shooter, who enjoys his personal watercraft and playing drums in a surf-rock cover band. LODGE 49 premiered on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 10:05-11:15pm ET/PT on AMC. In the 70-minute series opener, "As Above, So Below," Dud finds himself deposited by fate at the doorstep of Lodge 49, a dusty fraternal order which offers cheap beer and strange alchemical philosophies.

Season 2 of LODGE 49 premiered on Monday, August 12, 2019 at 10:10pm ET/PT on AMC. Despite his "Knight" and mentor Ernie's lost faith, and his twin sister Liz's struggle with their past, Dud believes he is the key to restoring the Lodge to its former grandeur and putting the rightful king on the throne. In addition to Russell, Jennings and Cassidy, this season's cast includes Linda Emond, Eric Allan Kramer and David Pasquesi. In the season opener, "All Circles Vanish," the pool shop is under new ownership. Dud recuperates from his shark attack while searching for Ernie. Ernie deals with the aftermath of his adventure with El Confidente. Liz enters the TempJoy workforce.
