Plot Synopsis
LITTLE WOMEN: LA is a one-hour reality series that follows a group of little people, as they deal with relationships, parenting, careers and especially the ups and downs of friendships. They laugh, cry, compete and fight with one another, but through it all they share a special unbreakable bond. The women are: Tonya Banks, a single mother born and raised in Carson, CA, who has been an actress, stuntwoman and celebrity impersonator for more than 30 years and whose 22-year-old daughter, Angelique, is of average height; Elena Gant, born and raised in Russia, who moved to California a few years ago, is a full time actress and celebrity impersonator, and is currently married to Preston Gant, a 6'2" African-American; Traci Harrison, a Christian from Southern California, who has worked as an actor and regular stand-in on movies and TV shows for the past 13 years and is currently engaged to Erik Tsou, also a little person; Terra Jole, an animal activist originally from born in San Antonio, TX, who is an entertainer and a well-known celebrity impersonator and who has been dating her boyfriend, Joe Gnoffo, for the past four years; Briana Manson, a recent divorcee originally from Corona Del Mar, CA, who is a devoted full-time, stay-at-home mom with a 4.5-year-old daughter; and Christy McGinity, originally from Burbank, CA, who works from home as a financial advisor after acting for several years and who is in a relationship with Todd Gibel. On Tuesday, July 22 at 10pm ET/PT, Lifetime aired the Season 1 finale of LITTLE WOMEN LA, featuring Christy and Todd's wedding, one of the first televised little people nuptials. As Christy finalizes her last minute wedding details -- from the dress and flower arrangements to the venue -- she quickly realizes her mother is a momzilla. With wedding bells in the air, Terra and Joe feel pressure to discuss if they are really meant to be together. Finally, the ladies speculate why Elena isn't drinking...could there be a baby on the way? On Tuesday, July 15, 2014 -- one week before the Season 1 finale -- Lifetime announced that LITTLE WOMEN: LA had been renewed for a second season.
On New Year's Day 2015 (Thursday, January 1) at 9pm ET/PT, Lifetime premiered the second season of LITTLE WOMEN: LA. When a shocking baby announcement is made and there's a new little lady in town, the group's friendships are pushed to the limit. In each hour-long episode, viewers get a unique glimpse into the lives of these girlfriends as they wade through the ups and downs of life, supporting one another every step of the way as they prove, once again, that height is just a number. In the season opener, "Baby on Board," the Little Women embark on a booze cruise, but it's not all smooth sailing. Traci accuses Briana of lying about why she didn't attend Traci's wedding, but are Briana's mysterious medical reasons true? Terra gets an offer that could change her career, but it would require a huge sacrifice she might not be willing to make. And the baby race is on between Elena, Christy and newly married Traci. But after a pregnancy test comes up positive, the question is, who's pregnant?!? Just before the Season 2 premiere, Lifetime aired a one-hour "Season 2 Kickoff Special" from 8-9pm ET/PT.
LITTLE WOMEN: LA returned for its third season on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT on Lifetime, immediately following a nine-hour marathon (Noon-9pm) of encore episodes. Season 3 brings new faces to this close-knit crew. Christy and Todd are finally pregnant, but fearing the backlash from the little people community, they have yet to reveal that they have pre-selected an average size baby through IVF. Meanwhile, Tonya and Jasmine continue their on-again, off-again friendship and Tonya's relationship with Ja becomes stronger than ever. In the season opener, "Ballroom Blitz," the girls feel that Terra has changed since she began competing on DANCING WITH THE STARS, and fears she is sacrificing her family, friendships, and her little body for the wrong reasons. Meanwhile, Elena it's pushing her entrepreneurial skills to the next level with a make-up line and a children's book while Jasmine is recommitting to Chris in an elaborate vow renewal. It's all about giving back to the community for Terra, as she works with younger Little People and eventually launches her own Little People retreat.
