Plot Synopsis

Lux wants to be an emancipated minor after spending 15 years with multiple foster families. There's just one catch -- she has to track down her biological parents and have them sign away their rights to her. She first finds her father Baze, who is shocked to find out he even has a daughter. Then Lux learns that her mother Cate is the host of her favorite radio show -- "Morning Madness" on Portland's K100. Both parents agree to sign the paperwork, but the judge decides that Lux isn't ready for emancipation. He has something else in mind and grants temporary joint custody to Baze and Cate. They agree to try to get past the awkwardness and make a belated attempt to give Lux the family she deserves.
