Plot Synopsis

Based on the YouTube series of the same name, LIFE IN SIX STRINGS features music journalist, author and guitar novice Kylie Olsson, who joins up with some of the greatest six-string virtuosos in music. These guitar masterminds -- Steve Vai, Mick Mars, Nuno Bettencourt, and more -- invite her into their homes to delve into the instrument's incredible impact on their lives. The series gives viewers a candid glimpse into where each artist is from -- both sonically and geographically -- detailing how their unique origins have informed their music. Along the way, she gleans some of their priceless tips and tricks to guide her on her own journey to learn how to play the guitar. In the series opener, Kylie travels to Nashville to meet up with blues guitar icon Joe Bonamassa who shows off his apartment, favorite restaurants and a guitar safari plus teaches her how to play one of the most famous blues licks in music history.

On Monday, November 20, 2023 at 8:30pm ET/5:30pm PT, AXS TV premiered the season finale of LIFE IN SIX STRINGS. In the season ender, Phil Collen of Def Leppard jams and hangs out with Kylie, while teaching her how to play one of their iconic songs, "Photograph."
