Plot Synopsis
LIFE FLIGHT: TRAUMA CENTER HOUSTON is a one-hour reality series that follows the trauma teams at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and the split second decisions they must make while performing life-saving procedures. At this facility, doctors, nurses and trauma surgeons do everything they can to save each patient brought in by the helicopter Life Flight teams. Memorial Hermann Life Flight was the first air-medical service in Texas and Houston and only the second in the nation. Since it's inaugural flight in 1976, Life Flight has flown more than 140,000 missions. Each 60-minute episode features multiple patients, including: a man who has been electrocuted, as burn unit nurses work around the clock to save his life; a young girl attacked by a pit bull; a man whose chest is cracked open by a doctor investigating whether a knife has pierced his heart; a man who was shot multiple times; a woman with a shattered leg who is allergic to morphine; a patient who goes into septic shock, causing a doctor to defend her treatment in front of her superiors; a patient who is injured in a motorcycle crash; a patient with a stab wound who is rushed to the operating room; and many more people with serious injuries.
