Plot Synopsis

Each weekday for one hour, Jake Tapper, the former ABC News senior White House correspondent, covers the six or seven most important stories in current events, money, politics, sports and pop culture -- across the nation and from around the world. Plus, Tapper's prolific tweeting extends to this program, aggregating and incorporating trends and responses from social media into the reporting of stories. THE LEAD airs weekdays at 4pm ET, replacing the first hour of THE SITUATION ROOM WITH WOLF BLITZER, which is now a two-hour program from 5-7pm ET on weeknights. The guests on the premiere episode were Stephen Colbert, Lebron James, and Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
