Plot Synopsis

LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES fuses the classic ripped-from-the-headlines storytelling of LAW & ORDER with the distinctive backdrop of Los Angeles, delving into the unique attitudes, cultures and crimes of the West Coast. Detectives Ricardo Morales and Tomas 'TJ' Jarusalski are members of the LAPD's elite Robbery Homicide Division, led by Lt. Arleen Gonzales. Morales became frustrated as a Deputy DA, and he returned to the police force, replacing TJ's former partner, Tex Winters, midway through Season 1. TJ is the son of an Oscar-winning Polish cinematographer, and he knows the dark underside of Hollywood all too well. In the courtroom, two teams of District Attorneys tried cases on an alternating basis -- Deputy DAs Ricardo Morales and Evelyn Price formed one team with Deputy DAs Joe Dekker and Lauren Stanton worked together on a second team -- for the first half of Season 1. Now that Morales is back on the streets after leaving the DA's office, Dekker works with Deputy DA Connie Rubirosa on a single team trying all cases. Dekker is a white-knight crusader whose political ambitions often bring him into conflict with his boss, while Rubirosa served as Executive Assistant District Attorney in New York and she recently located to Los Angeles to help her ailing mother.
