Plot Synopsis
Based on real events, THE LAST PANTHERS is a six-episode crime drama series that opens with an audacious jewelry heist in Marseilles, with all the trademarks of the infamous and recently dormant 'Pink Panthers' gang. But the death of a little girl during this diamond heist sparks a series of events across Europe that sets British insurance loss adjuster Naomi Franckom (seeking to recover the diamonds at any cost), French-Algerian cop Khalil Rachedi (pursuing the thieves) and Serbian soldier-turned-diamond thief Milan Celik on a dramatic and dangerous collision course. What starts with diamonds leads to guns, drugs, high finance and involves the corridors of power. While they set out to catch the remaining members of the Panthers, both Khalil and Naomi must confront bitter memories and relationships from their pasts. The series travels back and forth between the dark days of the 1995 Balkan conflict, through the evolution of organized crime in Europe, to the modern day world of gangsters and Euro banks and its new breed of criminal -- the banksters. With opening title music by the legendary David Bowie, THE LAST PANTHERS was shot in four countries - the UK, France, Serbia and Montenegro -- and in three languages. SundanceTV aired the U.S. premiere of this series on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT.
