Plot Synopsis
THE LAST O.G. is a half-hour comedy series that centers on Tray, an ex-con who is shocked to see just how much the world has changed when he is released on good behavior from a 15-year prison stint. Returning to his newly gentrified Brooklyn neighborhood, he discovers that his former girlfriend, Shay, has married an affable, successful white man, Josh, who is helping raise Tray's twin sons who he never knew existed. Wanting nothing more than to connect with his kids, but having neither the money to support them nor himself, Tray falls back on the skills he learned in prison to make ends meet while treading unfamiliar territory. Amira and Shahzad, Shay's fraternal twins, both physically resemble Tray but grew up in private schools and can't relate to his hardscrabble upbringing. Tray is pretty certain that the twins are his, although Shay hasn't admitted it yet. When Tray leaves prison, he stays at a halfway house, where the head, Miniard Mullins, thinks of himself as the pinnacle of charisma at the house. Season 1 guest stars include: Edi Patterson, Chrissy Metz, Malik Yoba, Joel Marsh Garland, Heather Simms, Wendy Makkena, Ray Anthony Thomas, and more. TBS debuted a half-hour sneak preview of THE LAST O.G. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 11:30pm ET/8:30pm PT, immediately following post-game coverage of the NCAA FINAL FOUR. THE LAST O.G. officially debuted three days later on Tuesday, April 3 at 10:30pm ET/PT.
The sophomore season of THE LAST O.G. premiered on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 10:30pm ET/PT on TBS. After losing his job, Tray goes all in on his dreams of becoming a chef; meanwhile, Tray's ex-girlfriend, Shay, has an intriguing business venture of her own on the horizon. The second season also features returning series regulars Ryan Gaul, who plays Shay's affable husband Josh; Allen Maldonado, who plays Tray's goofy but well-intentioned cousin Bobby; and Taylor Mosby and Dante Hoagland, who play Tray and Shay's teenage children, Shahzad and Amira. Among the new guest stars joining the cast are legendary hip hop artists Method Man, Rev Run, Talib Kweli, and Rakim, as well as Bresha Webb, Diarra Kilpatrick, Anna Maria Horsford, Joshua Rivera, Dan Hedaya, Brian Sacca, and Jack McBrayer. In the season opener, "Ladies First," Tray wants to see the twins' birth video, and searching for it brings back emotional memories for Shay.

After serving his time at the halfway house and having his food truck go up in flames, Season 3 finds Tray forced into finding a new place to live, and new forms of income. He lands in gentrified Brooklyn with a host of colorful, hipster neighbors, where he begins to give "hood legend" walking tours of the city that is forever changing around him. Meanwhile, Tray's ex-girlfriend Shay is presented with the business opportunity of a lifetime, which could mean big changes for the whole family. Guest stars for the third season include: Mike Tyson, Katt Williams, J.B. Smoove, Sasheer Zamata, Marla Gibbs, John Amos, Zach Cherry, Chelsea Frei, Lord Jamar, Clifton Powell, Roy Wood Jr., H. Michael Croner and Andrew Richardson, with appearances by Karrueche Tran and Chris Bosh. In the season opener, "Lookin at the Front Door," after 6 months of crashing at his mom's house, Tray leaves the nest in search of a place of his own, but he must first get some sage advice from a wise OG on how to battle the demons of his past. Guest starring Mike Tyson.
THE LAST O.G. returned for its fourth season on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 10-11pm ET/PT, as TBS debuted back-to-back new episodes. A new episode then premieres each Tuesday at 10:30pm through December 21. Last season's finale saw Tray fall victim to a violent attack, and this season follows his personal reawakening -- with a fresh perspective on his community, new goals, and a distinct set of challenges. It's a new day and a new way for Tray, as he tries to adapt to a changing world so he can do some good for the Brooklyn he loves. Season 4 guest stars include Janet Hubert, Malik Yoba, Wood Harris, and Gary Dourdan.
