Plot Synopsis

Best known for his over-the-top character sketches, British comedy sensation Marc Wootton plays three wannabes struggling to find fame and fortune in Los Angeles. Even though Marc's characters are fictitious, nobody around him knows he's an actor and their responses and reactions are real. Marc's three characters are: Brendan Allen, an aspiring documentary auteur who desperately wants to be as hip as Morgan Spurlock and as rich as Michael Moore, but has all the talent of Homer Simpson. He's in the middle of a messy divorce from Susie, including a custody battle over his 5-year-old son Jack; Shirley Ghostman, a professional psychic with a unique talent -- the ability to communicate with dead celebrities -- who has moved to the United States to change his name and image after losing credibility in the UK; Gary Garner, a charismatic East-London cab driver who is determined to launch a new career in Hollywood as an actor and become the next Jason Statham. He only has enough money for the next six weeks and must learn to act, land an agent, get a starring role in a movie and fulfill the last wish of his recently deceased mother -- to spread her ashes in Hollywood, where she wanted to be an actress. His real-life (and unknowing) accomplices are: Chico, Gary's driver; Ruta, Gary's mentor; and Kiki, Brendan's assistant.
