Plot Synopsis

Hot-tempered chef Gordon Ramsay travels the country helping failing restaurants turn things around. With his unique blend of tough love confrontations and inspirational leadership he teaches clueless business owners how to turn a deserted dining room into the most sought-after reservation in town in only a week. Whether he changes the restaurant's operations, updates the menu or gives the establishment a complete makeover, Chef Ramsay delves deep into the inner workings of each eatery to transform it into a money-making business.

Season 5 opened on October 26, 2012 at 8pm ET with the first part of a two-part episode, chronicling Chef Ramsay's visit to La Galleria 33 in Boston, where he forces the owners to confront their staff and reclaim control of the restaurant.

KITCHEN NIGHTMARES returned for its sixth season on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 8pm ET/PT on Fox, with back-to-back new episodes. In the Season 6 premiere, Gordon pays a follow-up visit to Amy's Baking Company, where he faced off against its defiant owners who then took to social media to defend themselves. In the night's second episode, Gordon helps the owner of Pantaleon's, a Denver pizzeria. For the rest of Season 6, Gordon visits struggling restaurants in: Queens, NY; Easton, PA; Arvada, CO; Woodland Park, CO; and Redondo Beach, CA. Plus, he'll also re-visit La Galleria 33 in Boston, MA; the Olde Hitching Post in Hanson, MA; and Prohibition Gastropub in Everett, WA.

After a nine-year break, KITCHEN NIGHTMARES returned for a new season on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 8pm ET/PT on FOX. Each episode follows Ramsay as he revamps a restaurant in crisis, exposing the stressful realities of running a successful food business. Now more than ever, restaurant owners are faced with seemingly insurmountable challenges, from health code violations and staffing issues to menu errors and kitchen conditions found only in nightmares. Ramsay is their restaurant 9-1-1 call and the last chance for their businesses to survive. In the season opener, "Bel Aire," The Bel Aire Diner in Astoria, New York is no stranger to challenges as a family-run business crumbling under dysfunction. With their parents retiring, Ramsay urges two brothers to work through their emotional conflicts in order to save their beloved restaurant.

On Monday, December 4, 2023 from 8-10pm ET/PT, FOX premiered "Max's; Diwan," the two-hour season finale of KITCHEN NIGHTMARES. Gordon Ramsay heads to Max's Bar & Grill in Long Branch, New Jersey to mediate the restaurant's divorced owners through their frustrations with each other before their business crumbles. Then, Gordon steps in to help transform Diwan, an established Indian restaurant in Port Washington, New York, that is also running a Mexican restaurant out of the same kitchen.
