Plot Synopsis

Each year since 1988, Nickelodeon's KIDS' CHOICE AWARDS offers kids the chance to vote for their favorites in movies, television, music, books, sports, video games and more. In 1987, Nickelodeon created the 1ST ANNUAL BIG BALLOT, the first national poll of kids' choices, which one year later transformed into the KIDS' CHOICE AWARDS in 1988. Each year since the name change, the show has been hosted by a celebrity beloved by kids. Keeping with the kids' theme, the winners are announced with surprising reveals: basketballs dropping from the ceiling, live animals, slime slushies, kids in the audience and even a bear on a unicycle. Perhaps the most unpredictable element of the KIDS' CHOICE AWARDS is what has become an annual tradition and one of the hallmarks of the show: sliming a celebrity. Regarded as Nickelodeon's highest honor, being doused with green goop has become synonymous with the network.

Hosted by SpongeBob SquarePants (voiced by Tom Kenny) and Patrick Star (voiced by Bill Fagerbakke), live from their undersea home of Bikini Bottom (while the stars assemble at Pauley Pavilion), the 2024 KIDS' CHOICE AWARDS debuted on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 8-9:30pm ET (live)/PT (tape) on Nick, with a simulcast on TeenNick, NickToons, Nick Jr, TV Land, MTV2, and CMT. Kid Laroi performs.

First-time nominees include Halle Bailey, Austin Butler, Sabrina Carpenter, Kai Cenat, Timothee Chalamet, Luke Combs, Ariana DeBose, Ayo Edebiri, Ryan Gosling, Renee Rapp, Margot Robbie, Paul Rudd, among others. Leading the pack with six nods is Taylor Swift, followed by Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo and Justin Timberlake, with four nominations each. Nominees in television categories include:
