Plot Synopsis
Chefs Nikki Dinki and Bobby Deen travel to restaurants across America, where, at each stop, they transform one signature, comfort-food dish into a healthier option. Then, the patrons decide which of their creations is the tastiest. In each 30-minute episode, the duo stop by a different eatery. In the pilot episode, Nikki and Jason Roberts, who was later replaced by Bobby for the series, recreated the flavors of the Big Bad John Sandwich at The Chatterbox Drive-In in Augusta, NJ. Cooking Channel aired the pilot episode of JUNK FOOD FLIP on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 9:30pm ET, more than nine months before the official series premiere on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT. In the series opener, Nikki and Bobby flipped the Jalapeno Popper Burger into a healthier version for GAS Full Service Restaurant in St. Augustine, FL.

Season 2 of JUNK FOOD FLIP premiered on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 9pm ET/6pm PT on Cooking Channel. In the season opener, "Chicharrones Nachos Flip," Nikki and Bobby are surrounded by a colorful lucha libre wrestling-themed restaurant and actual masked luchadors, where they go mano y mano against Jose and Diego Rojano's Champion's Chicharrones Nachos, which tip the scales at a massive 169g of fat. After they each attempt to create healthier versions of the dish, Nikki and Bobby finally merge their creations into a 550-calorie shrimp-filled challenger they dub Beache' Ceviche.
