Plot Synopsis

Created by, executive produced by, and starring Jon Glaser, JON GLASER LOVES GEAR is a half-hour series that follows Jon as he sets out to make a docu-series about his greatest passion: gear. Ironically, it's this very obsession that continually threatens to derail the show, sending each episode spiraling off on deeply personal tangents. The 10-episode first season features John Hodgman, Steve Cirbus, Miriam Tolan and Eva Solveig in recurring roles. Guest appearances include Janeane Garofalo; John Early; Jo Firestone; mixed martial artist Renzo Gracie; bass fishing champ Woo Daves; Former NHL All-Star and Emmy Award winning broadcaster Ron Duguay; Peter Grosz; and Robert Kelly. On Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 11pm ET/PT, truTV aired a sneak-peek episode of this series, one day before JON GLASER LOVES GEAR officially premiered on Wednesday, October 26 from 10-11pm ET/PT with back-to-back episodes. In the sneak-peek, "Camping," Jon and his designated gear expert, Steve Cirbus, go on a couples camping trip, but things get weird between the couples.

JON GLASER LOVES GEAR returned for its second season on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 10:30pm ET/PT on truTV. In Season 2, will Jon's ridiculously intense passion for gear derail his television show, his friendships and relationships with both his real and fake families? Or will Jon be able to summon the strength to find the emotional gear he needs to get through it all? Find out this season on truTV, where the only thing you have to gear is... gear itself. Joining the cast in the 10-episode sophomore season are Bowen Yang and guest star Christine Taylor. In the season opener, "Survival," the network tells Jon it wants his 'Spurt (Steve Cirbus) to be the new host of the show, but Jon devises a devious plan to oust him. Jon then visits a barbershop, tattoo parlor, and CrossFit gym to prove that he's just as macho as his old sidekick.

On Monday, March 11, 2019 at 10:30pm ET/PT, truTV premiered the Season 2 finale of JON GLASER LOVES GEAR. In the season ender, "Skydiving," Jon pitches the network on a big skydiving season finale. Scared to death of actually jumping out of a plane, he tries trapeze school, indoor skydiving, and VR jumps. Will he build up the courage to make the real jump from 13,000 feet?
