Plot Synopsis
JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE: GAME NIGHT is a series of half-hour primetime specials that air immediately before each game of the NBA FINALS (or immediately after each game on the West Coast). The format is the same as his late night show, and his celebrity guest list is impressive since the summer movie season is in full swing.
For the 2013 NBA FINALS, Jimmy Kimmel tipped off a sixth season of GAME NIGHT with an episode featuring Will Smith and Shaquille O'Neal at 8pm ET (live) on Thursday, June 6, 2013 on ABC.
GAME NIGHT returned for its seventh consecutive year, airing each night of the 2014 NBA FINALS, starting with Game 1 on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 8pm ET (live) on ABC. Season 7 featured basketball editions of Kimmel's signature comedy bits "Mean Tweets" and "Lie Witness News," plus celebrity guests like Cameron Diaz, Jason Segel, Tracy Morgan, Mila Kunis, Martin Lawrence, Snoop Dogg, PSY, Ice Cube and many more.
The ninth season of GAME NIGHT premieres the night of the first game of the 2016 NBA FINALS, airing 8pm (ET) on the East Coast and after the game on the West Coast. As in previous seasons, GAME NIGHT aired each night of the NBA FINALS. On Thursday, June 2, 2016, ABC premiered a new season of GAME NIGHT, airing each night of the 2016 NBA FINALS at 8pm ET (live) and after the game on the West Coast. This year, Kimmel's line up of guests include Matthew McConaughey; Oprah Winfrey; Seth Rogen; the cast of upcoming Pixar film FINDING DORY, including Ellen DeGeneres, Kaitlin Olson, Albert Brooks, Ed O'Neill and Ty Burrell; and more. The season opener features Grammy-winning recording artist Mariah Carey and all-new "Mean Tweets: NBA Edition," featuring Klay Thompson, Blake Griffin, Steph Curry, Magic Johnson, and many more basketball greats.
GAME NIGHT returned for its tenth season on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 8pm ET/7pm CT and after each game of the 2017 NBA FINALS on the West Coast on ABC. The first night features comedian Kevin Hart, and the following celebrities are scheduled to appear in the new season: Robert Downey Jr., Tom Holland, Will Ferrell, Owen Wilson, Jamie Foxx and Billy Crystal, with special appearances by Snoop Dogg and Karl Malone. Plus, viewers can also expect to see an all-new addition of Mean Tweets: NBA Edition, as well as a three-point challenge featuring the celebrity guests.
Returning in 2018 for its eleventh consecutive season in conjunction with the NBA FINALS, JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE: GAME NIGHT debuts on ABC at 8pm ET/7pm CT before each game and after each game on the West Coast. These 30-minute primetime specials celebrate a unique blend of entertainment and sports with Kimmel's signature comedy bits and an all-star lineup of guests, including Kevin Hart, Sandra Bullock, Jamie Foxx, Ryan Gosling, Tiffany Haddish, Samuel L. Jackson, and Jennifer Lopez, with special surprise appearances as well.
For the 2019 NBA FINALS, ABC premiered the twelfth season of JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE: GAME NIGHT on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 8pm ET and after Game 1 on the West Coast. These special-edition prime-time specials celebrate a unique blend of entertainment and sports with Kimmel's signature comedy bits and an all-star lineup of guests, including Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston for the first night. Other guest stars this season include Anthony Anderson, Chadwick Boseman, Jamie Foxx, Tom Holland, LL Cool J, and special surprise appearances.
JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE: GAME NIGHT returned for its thirteenth season on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 8pm ET and after Game 1 on the West Coast, with Adam Sandler as the scheduled guest. A new 30-minute episode of GAME NIGHT debuts each night of the 2020 NBA FINALS, with Matthew McConaughey (Game 2: Oct 2), Jamie Foxx, and more celebs set to appear, with special surprise appearances as well.
Returning for the 14th consecutive year in conjunction with the NBA Finals, ABC presents JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE: GAME NIGHT, airing each night in primetime beginning with Game One (Tue Jul 6). This year's guests include Chance the Rapper, Jason Momoa, Dwayne Johnson and Johnny Knoxville, with special surprise appearances as well. Anthony Anderson is the guest host for all episodes.

The 15th season of JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE: GAME NIGHT tipped off on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 8pm ET and after Game 1 on the West Coast, with Adam Sandler and Boban Marjanovic as the scheduled guests for the season opener. Other scheduled guests this season include: Chris Pratt, Chris Evans, Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Martin Lawrence and Samuel L. Jackson with special surprise appearances as well.
