Plot Synopsis
After a tragic ending to her short-lived superhero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a no-frills private investigator who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City. Despite her efforts to live a fairly anonymous life on the dingy streets of Hell's Kitchen, she can't subdue her demons, and disturbing visions reveal her past, including her nemesis, the mindcontrolling Kilgrave. Jessica is joined by: Jeri Hogarth, a manipulative lawyer who only helps Jessica when she can get something in return; Trish Walker, Jessica's best friend and closest confidante, who also happens to be a famous radio host; Malcolm, Jessica's kind-but-drug-addicted neighbor; and Wil Simpson, an NYPD cop. Plus, Luke Cage is introduced as sparks ignite with Jessica once they realize they both have special abilities. Netflix released the entire 13-episode first season on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT.
Season 2 of MARVEL'S JESSICA JONES premiered on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Netflix released all 13 episodes of the second season in all territories where Netflix is available. NYC private investigator Jessica Jones is beginning to put her life back together after murdering her tormenter, Kilgrave. Now known throughout the city as a super-powered killer, a new case makes her reluctantly confront who she really is while digging deeper into her past to explore the reasons why. Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) is joined by an incredible returning cast that includes Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker), Carrie-Anne Moss (Jeri Hogarth), Eka Darville (Malcolm Ducasse) and new cast members Janet McTeer and J.R. Ramirez, among others. In the season opener, "AKA Start at the Beginning," while Jessica deals with a rival PI and a paranoid would-be client, Trish digs up a medical file that could unlock the mystery of Jessica's powers.
