Plot Synopsis

Executive produced by Samantha Bee and Jason Jones, IT'S PERSONAL WITH AMY HOGGART is a half-hour, docu-style comedy series that features under-qualified and over-confident Brit Amy Hoggart, who seeks to make Americans feel better by attacking issues that make their lives -- and Amy's -- harder. Although Hoggart doesn't have a license, PhD, or any actual qualifications whatsoever, in each episode of this series, she attempts to untangle people's everyday issues such as shame, revenge, anxiety, grief, and... Miami. Each episode, viewers learn how Amy's personal issues echo those of her clients' in unexpected, ridiculous ways. As a self-proclaimed "empath and really nice person," Amy goes to absurd lengths to get her clients -- all real people, not actors -- to feel just a little bit better. She's desperate to help, and it definitely shows. Hoggart, the host and an executive producer of this series, will continue as a correspondent on FULL FRONTAL WITH SAMANTHA BEE. IT'S PERSONAL WITH AMY HOGGART premiered on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 10pm ET/PT on truTV with a simulcast on TBS.

On Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at 10pm ET/PT, truTV premiered "Grief," the season finale of IT'S PERSONAL WITH AMY HOGGART. NOLA native and dog-walker John grieves the death of his friend. To help him feel better, Amy gathers several musicians, a psychic, and an astronomer to organize a memorial to celebrate and honor John's friend's memory.
