Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Natalie Grant, IT TAKES A CHURCH is a one-hour reality series that features Christian congregations across America playing matchmaker to help an unattached fellow parishioner find their soul mate. Each week, one unsuspecting single who wants to find a mate is surprised to learn that their church is coming together to help them find love, led by their own Pastor, who tasks their congregation to find the best possible matches for the dater. The congregation nominates eligible singles and then selects a few of them, who try to connect with the dater by participating in activities, such as: leading a blindfolded bachelorette through an obstacle course; dancing their way into a bachelorette's heart; showing off their artistic skills at the pottery wheel; and working out at the gym together. By the end of the episode, the single parishioner learns that it really does take a church to find the perfect match. Each 60-minute episode features a different congregation, including places of worship in these cities: Brooklyn, NY; Charlotte, NC; Baltimore, MD; Goshen, IN; Milwaukee, WI; Rock Hill, SC; Oxnard, CA; and Tempe, AZ. On Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 8pm ET/PT, GSN premiered the second season of IT TAKES A CHURCH, with host Natalie Grant visiting churches in California, Michigan, Tennessee, Alabama, Indiana and Wyoming in the new batch of episodes, as she tries to find love for one lucky single at each place of worship. Highlights in Season 2 include special guest appearances by actors/performers David & Tamela Mann and musician Bo Bice.

On Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 8pm ET/PT, GSN premiered the season finale of IT TAKES A CHURCH. In the season ender, "Mann Up," David & Tamela Mann act as relationship experts when members of a Christian church play matchmaker and help a female congregant find love. When one bachelor gets defensive, will she find comfort in the arms of another?
