Produced by Simon Cowell's Syco Entertainment, THE INVESTIGATOR: A BRITISH CRIME STORY is a four-part, true-crime series during which former police detective Mark Williams-Thomas sheds new light on the decades-old case of Carole Packman, whose husband, Russell Causley, was convicted of her murder -- even though her body was never found. On Friday, January 13, 2017 at 3:01am ET/PT, this series had its U.S. debut on Netflix, as the streaming service released the entire season.

Season 2 of THE INVESTIGATOR: A BRITISH CRIME STORY had its U.S. premiere on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Netflix released the entire three-episode second season. In the new season renowned criminologist Mark Williams-Thomas re-examines a string of mysterious murders, including:

- the disappearance of Eastbourne teen Louise Kay, where a crucial revelation about a notorious suspect redefines the scope of the case

- the chilling murders of Anna Kenny, Agnes Cooney and Hilda McAuley in Glasgow

- one final murder case, which threatens to derail his theory about two heinous suspects with similarly volatile histories
