Plot Synopsis

In partnership with Blumhouse Television, INTO THE DARK is a horror anthology series that includes 12 super-sized episodes, with a new installment released each month inspired by a holiday, while featuring Blumhouse's signature genre/thriller spin on the story.

"The Body" (October 5, 2018): Wilkes, a sophisticated hitman with a cynical view on modern society, finds his work made more difficult when he has to transport a body on Halloween night, but everyone is enamored by what they think is his killer costume. Starring Tom Bateman as Wilkes, Rebecca Rittenhouse as Maggie, Aurora Perrineau as Dorothy, and Max Adler as Officer Freer.

"Flesh & Blood" (November 2, 2018): On Thanksgiving, teenager Kimberly tries to move on from her mom's unsolved murder to cure her agoraphobia. But under the care of her doting father, she starts to suspect that she is in danger and it's always the ones you love who hurt you the most. Starring Dermot Mulroney as Henry, Diana Silvers as Kimberly, and Tembi Locke.

"Pooka!" (December 7, 2018): Wilson, a struggling actor, gets a holiday season job as a Christmas character in a plush suit to promote the hottest toy of the year, Pooka. At first it's a fun and friendly distraction, but he slowly develops two personalities -- one when he's in the suit, and one outside it -- as Pooka slowly starts to take possession of him. Directed by Academy Award nominated filmmaker Nacho Vigalondo, this installment stars Nyasha Hatendi as Wilson, April Campion as Iris, and Gene Freeman as Evil Pooka.

"New Year, New You" (December 28, 2018): In the era of self-care mania, a group of millennial friends gather for a girls' night reunion on New Year's Eve to reconnect and reminiscence. But as they begin to rehash old memories and revisit an old party game of "Never, Have I Ever," gripes and secrets they've been harboring manifest in nefarious and surprising ways. Starring: Carly Chaikin as Danielle, Suki Waterhouse as Alexis, Melissa Bergland as Chloe, and Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Kayla. Sophia Takal directs and wrote this installment with co-writer Adam Gaines.

"Down" (February 1, 2019): A pair of office workers get trapped in an elevator over a long Valentine's Day weekend, but what at first promises to be a romantic connection turns dangerous and horrifying in this Blumhouse mash-up of rom-com and horror film genres. Starring: Matt Lauria as Guy, Natalie Martinez as Jennifer, and Christina Leone as Ruby.

"Treehouse" (March 1, 2019): Celebu-chef Peter Rake escapes a scandal for a weekend at his family's isolated vacation home, but there are debts to repay and Peter has to learn the lesson that a woman's place is anywhere that she chooses to be...if he survives. Written and directed by PSYCH star James Roday. Starring: Jimmi Simpson as Peter Rake, Julianna Guill as Kara, Stephanie Beatriz as Elena, Mary McCormack as Lilith, Shaunette Renee Wilson as Marie, and Sutton Foster.

"I'm Just F*cking With You" (April 1, 2019): A man and his sister are on the way to a family wedding, and they endure a night of increasingly frightening practical jokes during a one-night stay at a secluded motel. Starring: Keir O'Donnell, Hayes MacArthur and Jessica McNamee. Deftones' Chino Moreno serves as a composer for the episode.

"All That We Destroy" (May 3, 2019): A geneticist fears that her son may be becoming a serial killer and creates a group of clones in an attempt to cure him of his psychopathic tendencies. Therefore allowing him to relive the murder of his first victim. Starring: Samantha Mathis, Israel Broussard, Aurora Perrineau, Dora Madison and Frank Whaley.

"They Come Knocking" (June 7, 2019): After losing his wife Valerie to cancer, Nathan takes his two daughters -- Clair and Maggie -- on a road trip where he finds his family in the crosshairs of terrifying supernatural entities. Starring: Josephine Langford as Clair, Clayne Crawford as Nathan, Lia McHugh as Maggie, and Robyn Lively as Valerie.

"Culture Shock" (July 4, 2019): This thriller follows a young Mexican woman in pursuit of the American Dream, who crosses illegally into the United States, only to find herself in an American nightmare. Starring: Martha Higareda, Richard Cabral, Shawn Ashmore, Barbara Crampton and Creed Bratton.

"School Spirit" (August 2, 2019): On the first day of school, a group of social outcasts are stuck in weekend detention. While serving detention, they are confronted by the school's legendary hauntings. Starring: Corey Fogelmanis, Annie Q., Jessi Case, Julian Works, Philip Labes, and Hugo Armstrong.

"Pure" (September 6, 2019): Several teen girls at a Purity Retreat participate in a secret ritual, and they start to see a supernatural entity. The girls need to focus on the demon that they have unleashed, as well as their fathers' expectations. Starring: Ciara Bravo, Jahkara Smith, McKaley Miller, Annalisa Cochrane, Scott Porter, and more.



The sophomore season of INTO THE DARK premiered on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 3:01am ET/PT on Hulu. Season 2 episodes include:

"Uncanny Annie" (October 4, 2019): A group of college students get trapped in a mysterious board game that brings their darkest secrets and fears to life, where they must play to escape... and win to survive. Starring: Georgie Flores, Adelaide Kane, Paige McGhee, Jacques Colimon, Dylan Arnold, and Evan Bittencourt.

"Pilgrim" (November 1, 2019): Ms. Anna Barker invites Pilgrim re-enactors to her family's Thanksgiving in an effort to remind them of their privilege and help them bond. When the "actors" refuse to break character, the Barker family learns that there is such a thing as too much gratitude. Starring: Kerr Smith, Reign Edwards, Peter Giles, Courtney Henggeler, Taj Speights and Antonio Raul Corbo.

"A Nasty Piece of Work" (December 6, 2019): Ted, a mid-level corporate employee, finds out he's not getting the Christmas bonus he was expecting, but his boss, Steve, invites him to earn a promotion by beating his professional rival, Gavin, in a violent competition. Starring: Kyle Howard as Ted, Angela Sarafyan as Tatum, Dustin Milligan as Gavin, Julian Sands as Steve, Molly Hagan as Kiwi, and Natalie Hall as Missy.

"Midnight Kiss" (December 27, 2019): A group of longtime gay best friends and their resident fruit fly head to a beautiful desert home to celebrate New Year's Eve. One of their annual traditions is to play Midnight Kiss, a sexy but ultimately dangerous challenge to find that special someone to help you ring in the New Year. As friendships have grown strained with secrets, jealousy and resentment, the group faces another challenge when a sadistic killer wants in. Relationships are put to the test and truths are revealed as the night turns into a fight for survival. Starring: Augustus Prew as Cameron, Scott Evans as Joel, Chester Lockhart as Zachary, Ayden Mayeri as Hanna, Lukas Gage as Logan, and more.

"My Valentine" (February 7, 2020): A pop singer's songs and artistic identity have been stolen by her ex-boyfriend/manager -- and shamelessly pasted onto his new girlfriend/protege. Locked together in a small concert venue after hours, the three of them confront the emotional abuses of the past...until things turn violent. Starring: Britt Baron, Anna Lore, Benedict Samuel, and Anna Akana.

"Crawlers" (March 6, 2020): Three unlikely friends band together to save a college town from a vicious horde of body-switching aliens on St. Patrick's Day. Starring: Jude Demorest, Pepi Sonuga, Giorgia Whigham, Olivia Liang and Cameron Fuller.

"Pooka 2: Pooka Lives!" (April 3, 2020): A group of thirty-something friends from high school who create their own creepypasta about Pooka for laughs, but are shocked when it becomes so viral on the internet that it manifests more murderous versions of the creature.Starring: Felicia Day, Wil Wheaton, Malcolm Barrett, Rachel Bloom, Jonah Ray, Lyndie Greenwood and Gavin Stenhouse.

"Delivered" (May 8, 2020): A pregnant woman's life gets upended by an unexpected threat aimed at taking her unborn baby. Starring: Tina Majorino, Natalie Paul, Michael Cassidy, Micah Parker, Rosslyn Luke, and more.

"Good Boy" (June 12, 2020): When Maggie gets an emotional support dog to help quell some of her anxiety, she finds him to be even more effective than she imagined...because unbeknownst to her, he kills anyone who adds stress to her life. Starring: Judy Greer, Maria Conchita Alonso, Steve Guttenberg, Elise Neal, Ellen Wong, McKinley Freeman, and more.

"The Current Occupant" (July 17, 2020): Trapped in a mysterious psychiatric ward, a man with no memory comes to believe that he's the President of the United States and the subject of a diabolical political conspiracy. As the asylum's soul-crushing forces bear down on him, he fights to preserve his sanity and escape so that he can return to power. Starring: Barry Watson, Sonita Henry, Kate Cobb, Joshua Burge, Lilli Birdsell, Ezra Buzzington, and more.

"Tentacles" (February 12, 2021): This psychosexual horror-thriller is about a young Los Angeles couple, Tara and Sam, who fall head over heels into a new romance, entwining their lives -- until their intimacy transforms into something terrifying. Starring: Dana Drori as Tara and Casey Deidrick as Sam. Written by Alexandra Pechman and directed by Clara Aranovich.

"Blue Moon" (March 26, 2021): When Esme and her ten-year-old son, Luna move to a small desert town looking for a fresh start, they attract all the wrong kinds of attention. Esme must battle to protect her son and a terrifying secret before the next full moon reveals all. Starring Megalyn Echikunwoke, Yonas Kibreab, Marco Rodriguez, Joshua Dov, Gareth William, and more.
