From compulsive gamblers to shopaholics, from alcoholics to young people estranged from their families, episodes feature real people in crisis as friends and family, who have staged a surprise intervention, confront their destructive behavior. The series has conducted more than 262 interventions since its premiere in March of 2005. Stories in the 13th season of INTERVENTION included: Elena, a grandmother addicted to meth; Susie and Miriam, 41-year-old twins addicted to drugs and alcohol; Terry, a businessman and father with an $80,000 a year crack addiction; Cher, whose alcohol addiction has led to severe liver damage; and Nick, a 23-year-old willing to cross the Mexican border to get his next fix. INTERVENTION returned on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 9pm ET/PT on A&E, with five new episodes, announced at the time as the series' final installments. More than one year after the Season 14 finale on A&E, LMN resurrected INTERVENTION, premiering the show's fourteenth season on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT, showing back-to-back new episodes with Jeff VanVonderen and Candy Finnigan returning for the new season.

For its fifteenth season, INTERVENTION switched back to its original cable channel, A&E, which aired the Season 14 premiere on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT, immediately following a new one-hour special, "I Was There." Original interventionists Jeff Van Vonderen, Candy Finnigan, Ken Seeley and Donna Chavous return to present them with the life-changing opportunity of an intervention and rehab. The season opener featured smart and outgoing Katie, who traveled the world as an elite Irish dancer until she was derailed into a life of partying and drugs. Katie is now a shell of her former self. She lives with her boyfriend who deals drugs and supplies her with a weekly $2,000 fix. Katie puts everything in jeopardy when she attempts to shut down the intervention. INTERVENTION returned with new episodes on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT, immediately following a four-hour marathon (6-10pm) of encore episodes. In the summer premiere, "Matthew / Olivia," Matthew lost custody of his son and went from part-time user to full-blown addict, huffing ten cans of computer duster a day when a drug test came back positive. Olivia was repeatedly molested by a relative at age 11. Successive traumas into adulthood have led her to mask her emotional pain by injecting a dangerous combination of heroin and meth.

Season 16 of INTERVENTION premiered on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT on A&E, with original interventionists Jeff Van Vonderen, Candy Finnigan, Ken Seeley, Donna Chavous and former series subject and INTERVENTION success story Sylvia Parsons returning to present these individuals with a life-changing opportunity of intervention and rehab. Her family is desperate to get their loving mother back before it's too late. After leaving an abusive marriage, Mallory turned to drugs to cope with the fallout. At 29, she became withdrawn, lost interest in her kids, and turned to meth and heroin to erase her haunting past. When she was nine, she was diagnosed and medicated for ADHD. Then, at 14, Melanie was introduced to crack cocaine by an older boyfriend. She was instantly hooked and ended up in rehab at 15. Melanie got clean and turned things around, going back to school and becoming a Personal Support Worker -- a vocation that she loved. At 19, shortly after a breakup, Melanie found out she was pregnant and her ex-boyfriend wanted no part of being a father. She loved her son and was a good mother but, four months after giving birth, she became depressed and starting using crack cocaine again. Now, five years later, Melanie is saddled with a severe addiction. Without an intervention, Melanie will lose custody of her son, or worse, lose her life.
