Plot Synopsis

Todd Margaret is a corporate nobody and pathological liar who one day bluffs his way from being a temp employee into a senior salesman. Once promoted, his foul-mouthed boss, Brent, sends him from America to England to head the London office to sell the company's new energy drink, Thunder Muscle, which is a North Korean beverage of suspicious contents. As soon as he arrives in the UK, Todd falls for a disinterested and lovely cafe owner, Alice, despite mistakenly thinking he has a girlfriend back home. During his first day on the job, Todd promotes his only employee, Dave, from assistant to Director of Strategy despite Dave's mixture of apathy, laziness and booze -- not to mention the fact that Dave relishes every opportunity to expose Todd's lies. With Thunder Muscle inventory piling up and with Brent demanding sales, Todd steps up his efforts to crack the British retail market with sales plans, celebrity endorsements, commercials, publicity stunts and other lies about the dreadful drink. As if his business decisions weren't bad enough, Todd also goes after Alice's affections with a few simple visits to the cafe, then dinner and finally with a string of spectacular lies. Todd's only other "friend" in the UK is his pregnant, chain-smoking neighbor, Pam, who takes a shine to him. Season 2 highlights Todd's impending court hearing and unveils the true identity of the clandestine and manipulative mastermind of Todd's misfortune -- his seemingly random bad luck turns out to have actually been calculated. Season 3 of TODD MARGARET premiered as a two-night event on IFC, with the first three episodes debuting on Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 10-11:30pm ET/PT and the final three episodes premiering the following week on Thursday, January 14 at 10pm. Season 2 w, he's back and ready to get down to business. This season, Jack McBrayer joins the cast while guest stars Will Arnett, Blake Harrison, Sharon Horgan, Amber Tamblyn and Russ Tamblyn return as familiar characters... with a twist. Season 3 opens when Todd is sent to London to cover for a missing colleague but his girlfriend gets upset. Meanwhile, Todd's boss asks him to stay through the launch of their new energy drink, and Todd meets Chef Alice Bell at his hotel.

On Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 10-11:30pm ET/PT, IFC premiered the season finale of TODD MARAGARET, showing three back-to-back episodes. Todd meets with a large grocery chain for work and then travels north to attend a garden party at Alice's, which is sponsored by Thunder Muscle -- but the whole thing ends badly. Then, after crashing his car into Alice's restaurant, Todd tries to get back to Portland, where he extreme measures to ensure his dream doesn't come true as he attempts to save the world.
