Plot Synopsis

IN PLAIN SIGHT is a half-hour docuseries that features disturbing cases of murder and serious crime where the culprit was interviewed by the media, posted in social media or newspaper reports and brazenly showed their face while all the time they had blood on their hands. On Labor Day 2018 (Monday, September 3) from 4-5pm ET/PT -- as part of Investigation Discovery's inaugural Labor Day programming event, an "All DeLong Day" marathon -- ID aired a sneak peek of IN PLAIN SIGHT, debuting back-to-back new episodes:

"Homicidal Secrets" (4pm): When newlyweds Sherri Rasmussen and John Ruetten kiss each other goodbye on the morning of February 24, 1986, it'll be the last kiss they ever share. Sherri is found dead in their home hours later and detectives struggle to solve her case for 20 years.

"Teenage Rage" (4:30pm): When 16-year-old Dinah Peterson sneaks out to see her boyfriend on Valentine's Day, she never makes it home. As the small-town gossip spreads, the case takes a shocking turn and a 30-year secret is finally revealed.

IN PLAIN SIGHT had its official series premiere on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT, as Investigation Discovery debuted to more back-to-back new episodes:

"A Friend to Die For" (10pm): When art student Samantha 'Shelley' Nance's deceased body is discovered by her college roommate in 2009, campus erupts with gossip. Jealousy and secret crushes make for strong motives, but detectives struggle to pin the suspect.

"Killer Hookup" (10:30pm): After a night of partying, law student Jesse Valencia is found with his throat slashed. In a college town filled with endless parties and one-night stands, the list of possible suspects is long. It appears one of his lovers had a secret to keep.

On Friday, April 12, 2019 from 11pm-Midnight ET/PT, Investigation Discovery premiered the second season of IN PLAIN SIGHT, debuting back-to-back new episodes:

"It Was All a Lie" (11pm): A wounded and bleeding Charles Stuart calls 911 with a terrified tale of carjacking, that results in the death of his pregnant wife. As police mount a manhunt for the described killers, something just doesn't add up.

"Blinded by the Blonde" (11:30pm): Brian Barrett was shot to death just before he was supposed to meet his online dream girl. To catch the killer, police must venture into the murky world of chat rooms - but how can they solve the case when the killer is a virtual shadow?
