Plot Synopsis

In this series of specials, filmmakers discuss the development process of a movie -- from the moment of inspiration to when the cameras roll on the first day of production. The film's producers, director, screenwriter and studio executive discuss the behind the-scenes steps beginning with securing the rights, writing the screenplay, casting the roles, location scouting and getting the "greenlight" leading to production. Each special focuses on a single movie that was soon after released in theaters. The first special highlighted 20th Century Fox's WATER FOR ELEPHANTS and featured Elizabeth Gabler, Francis Lawrence, Richard Lagravenese, Andrew R. Tennenbaum, and Erwin Stoff.
