Plot Synopsis

A modern-day Finnish romantic comedy series following the lives of an urban, bilingual, environmentally conscious, left-wing couple in their thirties: Aino and Micke. They are forced to move to an upper-class neighborhood in Helsinki in an apartment owned by Micke's wealthy parents, who also live next door. In addition to Micke's parents, his childhood friend lives in the same building. When Aino's brother moves into their guest room, people from all walks of life meet under the same roof -- thirtysomethings and their parents, middle class people and blue-collar workers, Finnish speakers and Swedish speakers, right- and left-wingers, childhood friends who have lost touch, and first and foremost, a couple who are still getting to know each other. Season 2 of IDIOMATIC had its U.S. premiere on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as SundanceNow released all nine episodes of the second season. In Season 2, Aino and Micke consider starting a family, which is easier said than done! The couple has settled in a wealthy neighborhood in Helsinki where they live in Micke's parents' apartment. They share the apartment with Aino's unemployed brother, who's still trying to figure out what to do with his life. When Aino hears that a friend is pregnant, she and Micke discuss starting a family. Are they ready to become parents? Is their relationship ready for a new family member? Is the time right to have a baby, especially now that their careers are at a critical turning point?
