Plot Synopsis

ICONS UNEARTHED: JAMES BOND is a documentary series that takes a deep dive into the "James Bond" franchise, as cast, crew, and experts reveal never-before-heard stories about the most iconic film and television series. Directed by Brian Volk-Weiss, Alyssa Michek, and Ben Frost, the series features interviews with George Lazenby, who played James Bond just one time in ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE; Gloria Hendry, who played Rosie in LIVE AND LET DIE (and who also narrates the series); Caroline Munro, who played femme fatale Naomi in THE SPY WHO LOVED ME; Catherine Schell, who played Nancy in ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE Terence Mountain, who played a henchman in ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE (and had an uncredited role in DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER); Andreas Wisniewski, who played Necros in THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS; Trina Parks, who played Thumper in DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER; and stuntman Vic Armstrong (YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE, LIVE AND LET DIE, TOMORROW NEVER DIES). Episodes include:

"A Spy is Born" (Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 10pm): James Bond began with real-life spy and anxious bridegroom Ian Fleming; it would take a bumpy road to bring this spy story to the screen.

"The Man Who Wouldn't Be King" (Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 10pm): With the departure of their star, Cubby Broccoli and Harry Saltzman must find a new actor to play the super-spy.

"Changing Times" (Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 10pm): Though diamonds may be forever, Connery was not; embracing the cultural changes of the '70s takes Bond to new heights, but for one producer it would be the end of an era.
