Plot Synopsis
ICE CREAM NATION is a half-hour series that celebrates America's favorite cool treat, giving the scoop on the best, the craziest and classic ice cream shops across the United States. On Monday, July 17, 2017 from 8-9pm ET/5-6pm PT, Cooking Channel premiered back-to-back episodes, but the cable channel had no other episodes on its schedule at that time. In the night's first episode (8pm), "Crazy Cool Creations," get the scoop on the ice cream parlors that boast the most innovative ice cream creations in the country. We go coast to coast and everywhere in between, starting at Black Tap in New York City. Their signature milkshake is the Sweet and Salty, a peanut butter shake, bedazzled with M&M's and peanut butter cups and topped with whipped cream and a Sugar Daddy. A Gelato spot in Manhattan Beach, A, makes their famous spaghetti shaped white chocolate gelato sundae, complete with strawberry topping that looks like spaghetti sauce. Then, in the night's second episode (8:30pm), "Fun Flavors," in Annandale, VA, the program checks out Sno Cream, a Thai inspired that serves up a Strawberry and Cookies Sno Cream with every ingredient fresh and made to order. Later in New York City, we head to the totally revolutionary Tipsy Scoop, a "Barlour," that serves up boozy scoops using secret techniques to create a Maple Bourbon Bacon favor that might just leave you a bit loopy. Seven delectable locations are featured -- all with a unique and tasty twist on the dessert Americans are obsessed with.
