Plot Synopsis
I AM JAZZ is a one-hour reality series that follows Jazz Jennings who has the life of a typical teenage girl living in South Florida -- balancing school, sports, family, and more -- with one difference: when she was born everyone assumed she was a boy, but as soon as she could talk, she let her family know that she was really a girl. Beginning her transition at the age of five, Jazz is now a 14-year-old girl, preparing to enter high school. Living as a transgender teen comes with a unique perspective and some unexpected day-to-day experiences, but Jazz is surrounded by her loving family and friends. Joining Jazz are her parents, Greg and Jeanette, who have always supported Jazz, but now worry about what's next as Jazz enters adolescence. Jazz's siblings -- sister Ari and twin brothers Griffen & Sander -- stand by their little sister and guide her as she enters her teenage years. In this series, Jazz prepares to start her new school in the fall, faces decisions regarding her health, has to choose between her passion for soccer and spending more time with friends, and navigates entering the dating world. Plus, Jazz devotes her time to being a transgender advocate, sharing her story with people across the country in an effort to educate and inspire others. ALL THAT JAZZ debuted as a one-hour special, "I Am Jazz: A Family in Transition," on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 9pm ET/PT, moving to sister network TLC for its series premiere almost four years later on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT.
