Plot Synopsis

In each one-hour episode of HUNGRY INVESTORS, two nearby struggling restaurants that serve the same type of cuisine try to convince three investors -- bar/nightlife expert Jon Taffer, celebrity chef/author John Besh, and TOP CHEF ALL-STAR Tiffany Derry -- that they are willing to make the necessary adjustments to maximize the team's return on investment. After the experts evaluate each eatery, investigating the core of their operations and the business owners' abilities, one establishment may earn a substantial investment. If the trio can't come to a unanimous decision, neither restaurant gets a capital investment, but each owner still leaves the table with an improved business and a better chance for success. The expert team travels to a different city each week: Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, where they evaluate two BBQ joints -- Billy's Oak Acres BBQ (Fort Worth) & The Baby Back Shak (Dallas); Los Angeles, CA, where they give the "Invest Test" to two sizzling burger joints, including Outlaws Cafe (Van Nuys); Las Vegas, NV, where they check out two diners; Brooklyn, where they give two pizza places a twirl; and other cities where they look for investment opportunities at steakhouses, sushi bars, and many more eateries. After a two-month break, HUNGRY INVESTORS returned with new episodes on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on Spike. In the first episode back, two lost diners seek an investment to keep them from going hungry, but will a chef's meltdown at the grill force the investors to gamble on the groovy gravy of another diner?

On Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT, Spike aired the season finale of HUNGRY INVESTORS. In the season ender, "Subway Series," third-generation deli men face off against the self-proclaimed hero king in this sandwich scrimmage.
