Plot Synopsis

Based on the short-form web series of the same name, HUANG'S WORLD is a one-hour food/travel series that follows celebrity chef and author Eddie Huang, as he travels around the globe for two years to reveal each country's identity and culture through its food. In the first season, Eddie explores neocolonialism and the International Monetary Fund through jerk chicken and Pan-African food in Jamaica. He turns the tables on cultural appropriation when eating at a Chinese gastropub called Deli Burger. In Sicily, he explores the North African origins of arancini and identifies the inconsistencies of the far right's anti-immigration stance in the country. In anticipation of the show's long-form television debut, VICE released deleted scenes and bloopers at vice.com every Thursday, starting March 17. On Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT, Viceland premiered the second season of HUANG'S WORLD. Once again, Eddie takes a look at the nature of identity and multiculturalism through the shared and universal experience of food. In the season opener, Eddie arrives in Washington D.C. during the week of the inauguration to explore D.C.'s own fight against adversity and the problems of these volatile times. This season his journeys also take him across the U.S. from Hawaii and it's rich native culture to the whiter than white shores of Cape Cod as well as American cultural centers L.A. and New York. Plus, Eddie also travels through Asia, South America and one of the wealthiest places on Earth: Dubai.

On Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT, Viceland premiered "Dubai," the Season 2 finale of HUANG'S WORLD. Eddie arrives in Dubai, the opulent heart of the United Arab Emirates, to explore how the city's extreme wealth drives technology, culture, and food.
