Plot Synopsis

Using animations, re-creations, and archival footage and photographs, HOW WE GOT HERE is a half-hour series that features the people and innovations that moved America forward. Each 30-minute episode profiles a different person, including: rocket scientist Werhher Von Braun, the father of the V-2 rocket, who lead a team of colleagues on a daring escape out of Germany, into Cold War history and into the critical race for outer space; Henry Ford, who had a chance meeting with his personal hero Thomas Edison and a visit to a Chicago meat packing plant, inspiring him into action; a prospector named George Hearst who went West to seek gold that had been discovered in California, while his son, William Randolph Hearst, took over a second rate newspaper; and many more stories of the men and women who transformed America at key points in U.S.. history.
